The Problem Of Domestic Violence - 786 Words
The girl heard in the 911 call recording seems to be in imminent danger from exposure of domestic violence. Throughout the recording she sounds terrified as she is hysterically screaming and crying. She tells the operator that her mother and father are fighting and later noted that ââ¬Å"this has been going on forever and ever.â⬠Both the girl and the mother could be heard screaming ââ¬Å"stop it.â⬠During the recording the the girl also screams out ââ¬Å"stop it, you are going to hurt the babyâ⬠which indicates that there is a baby who is also at risk. The girl stated that her mother has red marks on her neck. Most disturbingly, the girl screams out at the top of her lungs ââ¬Å"oh my God, mommyâ⬠just prior to the phone disconnecting, leaving the listener to wonder what has just happened and if the mother is OK. Beyond the obvious danger of being hit (either intentionally or accidentally) during the course of the assault on the abused parent, additional dangers are posed to both the girl and the baby mentioned in the recording.
